designated driver从字面上来看是“指定司机”的意思。在国外，一群朋友出去玩，都会事先指定其中一位为专职司机，这位designated driver必须做到滴酒不沾，玩乐结束后需要把朋友们都安全送回家。
而Designated Drinker意译就是“被指定的饮者” 。他是规定好必须要喝很多酒的那个人，别人根本就不会奢望他喝完以后会是清醒的。
