Frankie J，1980年出生于墨西哥提华纳，两岁时随父母一起来到美国圣迭戈。他从小一直说西班牙语，深受拉丁音乐的影响，15岁就被加拿大独立舞曲厂牌挖掘，以拉丁Freestyle歌手推出数张轰动舞池单曲。Frankie进入SONY音乐集团于2003年发行攻入Top17的首张个人专辑《What's A Man To Do?》，其中描述一段难以挽回的分手感伤之作《Don't Wanna Try》迅速获得排行榜的亲睐而爆红乐坛。
