乐队的名字是以一种香草命名的。这如其名一样，他们的音乐是那种超现实主义的，相当柔和，适合独处的人回味淡淡往事。
Vetiver 是由以Andy Cabic为主唱的Folk乐队。成员Andy Cabic (主唱), Brent Dunn (贝司), Sanders Trippe(吉他), Otto Hauser (鼓手) and Kevin Barker (吉他)。 2004年，他们的专辑发售后就开始了各地的巡演，和Banhart，Joanna Newsom等人合作过。
